My impression is that Presonus had the chance to say something new but as usual missed the opportunity. battle field (to use presonus claim) with competitors is on sound quality, MTK recording on board capabilities, and GUI. Price has been furtherly reduced, i had an offer last week from my reseller: new for 1,4K Euro and it's not clear whether this could possibly prelude to the decision to discontinue the product. It seems that the whole RMLAi environment is savagely attacked by disappointed users (see AVB issue and other disregarded promises) nevertheless is the only one delivering the 96Khz. I might well pick the Ui24 for the multi-track recording interface alone. My X32 Rack has been very solid, and I love the idea of expansion and using the P16m system, but I already have an IEM solution, and I can run my band on the X32 Rack with channels to spare. If I had to pick today, it would be a tough choice for me. The range of effects and processing is greater, and you get a front end GUI control should you need it in an emergency. You can expand your input and output count with a stage box and AES50 easily, and you can provide IEM support with the P16m. On the X32 Rack side, you get a very very good off-line editor that is industry leading. More often than not, people like the sound of the Soundcraft to the X32. It offers direct to disk multi-track recording that the X32 does not (yet), and the Ui is easier to use. With no other expansion to the X32 Rack, the Ui 24 offers more XLR inputs (20 vs 16). Anything else I should consider?Well, considering that I am a long time owner of an X32 Rack, one would think I would say that was the way to go. Basically everything I need.Īnyone got it and comment on the UI? I had a little play around with the demo on their website, I wasnt swung on it compared to the xair edit. I had been looking at the presonus rm32 1600 euro or the x32 rack at 1290 euro, but then the ui24r caught my eye at 999euro. Close to maxxing out the channels so looking for an upgrade. Im using behringer xr18 live at weekends.
